Configuring Stonefield Query to Work with GMail

To configure Stonefield Query to work with GMail, do the following.

Configure GMail for POP

  • Sign in to Gmail.
  • Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and choose Settings.
  • Choose the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  • Choose either Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
  • In the When messages are accessed with POP setting, choose whichever option you wish.
  • Click Save Changes.

Configure GMail for access

Configure Stonefield Query

  • Start Stonefield Query.
  • Choose Options from the Tools menu.
  • Select the Email tab.
  • Choose the SMTP setting.
  • Enter your name and your GMail email address.
  • For Mail server address, enter "".
  • For SMTP port, enter 587.
  • Turn on Use SSL/TLS.
  • Turn on My email server requires authentication.
  • For User name, enter your GMail email address.
  • For Password, enter your GMail password.
  • Click Test to test that it works.
